Jammu, November 20  ( JKNT) Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti  will be holding a critical  meeting to review law and order situation in the state against the backdrop of “improving” atmospherics in the Valley  and the  fall out of the   firing on borders and the resultant difficulties thereof.

All the Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents  of Police of all districts of  Jammu region have been asked to  attend the meeting in which they would submit report  from the ground about the prevailing law and order situation and the measures being taken to keep peace and order in  place.

Sources disclosed that the Chief Minister who had held a similar meeting in Srinagar before Durbar Move is keen to  form a comprehensive view  of the overall situation  with a twin purpose to  take the measures that would help maintain calm and further consolidate the emerging normalcy in Kashmir, as also to seek the aid needed from Centre to help her in  tackling situation  in the state.

“ The Chief Minister  is apprehensive that some vested interests may stall the process of restoration of normalcy in the state, and take advantage of  some incidents to flare up passions, hence wants that the law and order machinery to work in coordination with  other agencies to avert any untoward situation,” a source  in know of things told JKNT.

Mehbooba’s  emphasis has been  on internal and external  reconciliation through dialogue with stake holders within the state and also with Pakistan so that peace can dawn on  borders .
