The Ministry of Home Affairs  Wednesday announced a slew of initiatives  reaching out to the people of Jammu and Kashmir , Jammu region in particular, to  make them  a part of the vibrant development and sense of equality  dotting the discourse across the country.

This is being viewed as Republic Day gift  to the people of Jammu .

Several Jammu region  specific initiatives  were announced  to make the region feel that the Centre  cares about its urges and aspirations .

Against the backdrop of the constant shelling from across the border  and resultant migration of the people combined with the earlier phases of migrations that have dotted the landscape of  Jammu , the Ministry of Home Affairs on  Wednesday  advised the Jammu and Kashmir Government to  constitute  a Migrants advisory Board to  address the issue of migrants of  various  times and their issues .

It was stated that “ In order to redress the grievances of migrants  that includes Kashmiri  migrants, Jammu migrants, displaced people of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir ( PoJK)  , Chhamb and West Pakistan refugees, the J&K government has been advised to immediately  constitute an advisory board.”

All this is being done at the initiative of Union  Home Minister  Rajnath Singh  to help stabilize situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The MHA has also advised the state government to upgrade the facilities at Jagti township of Kashmiri migrants and Talwara camp of Jammu migrants and also to  expedite the wok on artificial lake of Jammu .

The artificial  lake has been hanging in fore , but the MHA has made it clear now that no further delay would be brooked on this project that is connected with the development , tourism potential of  the historic Jammu city .

MHA has also asked the state government to review more cases of the stone pelters to consolidate the forces of peace.  in Jammu and Kashmir .

Already the MHA has advised the state government to grant amnesty to  first time stone throwers. The Chief Minister had promptly acted upon that.
