The Jammu and Kashmir Government will issue notification for the holding of the Urban Local Bodies polls this evening or by tomorrow morning, according to highly placed sources in the Government.
There is absolutely no question of postponing the polls . The notification will be issued by Wednesday evening or latest by Thursday, We shall be issuing notification by this evening or tomorrow ,” the highly placed source who has the access to the state’s decision making State Administrative Council told J K News Today , terming the reports suggesting postponement of the polls as “ baseless.”
The speculation about the postponement of the polls gained credence following the announcement of the non-participation in these polls by National Conference and PDP because of the Government’s ambiguous stand on the Article 35 A in the Supreme Court , where it has been challenged by an NGO.
The BJP , on the other hand , is very keen to contest the polls.
