Governor lauds the Hospital Governing body for providing much needed facility to the Ex-servicemen in the state

Governor Satya Pal Malik, who is also the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, complimented the Governing Body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Super Speciality Narayana Hospital, Kakrayal, for their efforts in getting the Hospital empaneled with the Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defense, Government of India, for providing different specialties and procedures to the ex-servicemen under the Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). A notification to this effect was issued by Government of India today empaneling 162 private hospitals in the country and abroad.

The Narayana Hospital has been empaneled to provide General Services like Surgery, ICU and Critical Care, Blood bank, Laboratory and Diagnostic Services, Specialized Services like Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Urology including Dialysis and Arthroscopic Surgery, Endoscopic Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Neuro medicine, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Onco-surgery, GI Surgery, Transfusion Surgery, besides Radio Imaging services like X-ray, USG, MRI, CT and PET-CT.

The Governor highlighted that an estimated one Lakh Ex-servicemen and members of their families, registered with regional ECHS Center, will benefit directly from the tertiary care facility created at the foothills of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. He added that the Ex-servicemen have for the past two years been demanding coverage under ECHS, which has now been realized. He directed the Hospital authorities to immediately execute the necessary MoU with ECHS authorities so that the Ex-servicemen and their families can benefit from the Hospital facilities.

A spokesperson of the Hospital mentioned that the Hospital has to now execute a MoU with the Regional Center of ECHS after which the patients can start availing the facility. The said execution is likely to take two weeks and thereafter from second week of January, 2019, the facility will be available to the patients.
