Demanding formation of House Committee on the issue of compensation of land acquitted by Government for Power Projects in erstwhile-Doda district, entire opposition staged walkout from Council.
Opposition membera from NC and Congress today strongly raised issue of Power Projects in the State Legislative Council and protested after entering the well and also demonstrated during Question Hour.
NC MLC Sajjad Kichloo, who was already protested for compensation to the over 10,000 families, whose land falls under Power Projects in Kishtwar. Following Kichloo all the members of NC and Congress raised the slogans against government saying they want justice for poor victims of land acquisition. They were demanding formation of House Committee.
Meantime, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, AR Veeri stood and requested the members to not disturb question hour and sit and raise the issue in Zero Hour.
But, members of opposition continued the protest and entered the well of the Upper House and also demonstrated.
When Chairman Haji Inayat Ali also not agreed with the demand of the opposition members and then the NC-Congress MLCs staged walk out.
