 Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharam  has said that the  attack at Sunjwan military station on Saturday was launched  by Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad   and declared in no uncertain terms that “ Pakistan   would have to pay a very heavy price for this misadventure.”

Talking to newsmen after  her hectic visit of Jammu on Monday during which she visited  Sunjwan military station and also met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti , the Defence Minister underlined  that the attack would not go unpunished. “ Pakistan will have to pay a very heavy price for this ( Sunjwan attack misadventure>”

Irmala Sitharaman was very clear that the nation stands by the army  and it would not let down Major Aditya Kumar  and other army personnel on any FIR that has been lodged against them in Shopian firing on January 27. It implied that the Centre was against the manner in which the  State government had lodged FIR against the army personnel.

She, however, did not disclose any details about her meeting with the Chief Minister .  She said that the “ Chief Minister was emotionally charged,” but did not elaborate the context for her charged  emotions .
