Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be conferred with Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Probity in Politics and Public Life award in Jammu on Monday .
The award has been instituted by People’s Democratic Party and it will be given away at the function which will be presided over by Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra . The function has been listed as Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Commemoration Day .
It coincides with the functions being organized to commemorate the 2nd death anniversary of PDP founder and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
On this occasion leading economist Lord Meghnad Desai will deliver first Mufti Mohammad Sayeed memorial lecture.
Mufti Sayeed was a leading political figure of the state. He also was the first Muslim Home Minister of India.
He died on January 7, 2016 after a prolonged illness.
