Courses of Offsite Campuses to be Reviewed-Prof Dhar

Jammu, December 28:

Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu today chaired a high power meeting to review Offsite Campuses. Prof Dhar advised the Rectors/Directors of various Off site Campuses to do a critical analysis of various courses being offered in their respective campuses in view the employability scenario, student perception, need of the area and available infrastructure and directed them to timely submission of detailed  proposal(s) so that new job oriented courses can be started in the Offsite Campuses. He also advised them to start skill development courses like B.Voc in consultation with various funding agencies i.e. UGC, Skill India, DST etc.

Prof. Dhar urged that the nodal Departments of Main Campus to monitor the academic activities of the Departments being run in the Offsite Campuses. Vice Chancellor directed that henceforth it shall be mandatory for all faculty members that include HOD/Dean concerned to visit off site campuses at regular intervals to provide specialized training to the students of Offsite Campuses. Prof Dhar directed the Rectors/Directors to initiate the process of connecting Offsite Campuses with Main Campus through Video Conferencing so that benefits of MOOCS, SWAYAM must reach to students studying in remotest corner of the division. Further issues related to the financial aspects were also deliberated in detail.

Among others Dean Academic Affairs, Rectors,Directors, Nodal HOD’s, Deans, Controller of Examinations, Director, Colleges Development Council, Chief Coordinator, Registrar , Coordinator Campuses, JR(Finance) and Campus Development Officer were also present on the occasion.
