Srinagar, June 5:

In a significant turn around in the political landscape of  the major opposition party   National Conference , its president Farooq Abdullah has  done away with the post of working president held by his son and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah .

Farooq has nominated  Omar as Vice President , an effective number two  position in the party removing the ambiguity of working president’s position that was often confused as equivalent to head of the party in  the  hierarchy.

Now onwards, there will be only one  Vice President of National Conference .

The party president has also nominated seven  state secretaries, they are :

 Chowdhary Muhammad Ramzan, Peerzada Ghulam Ahmed Shah , Rattan Lal Gupta , Ajay Sadhotra ,

Mushtaq Bukhari – State Secretary , S S Salathia  and Sakina Ittoo.

Six Central Secretaries too have been appointed and they are : Mir Saifullah ,Irafan Ahmad Shah ,Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo , Rachpal Singh, Javaid  Rana, Abdul Ganie Malik .

Mohammad Shafi  is now  Vice President, Kashmir Province ,. Shamima Firdous – State President, Women’s Wing, Bimla Luthra – State Vice President, Women’s Wing, Sabia Qadri – Provincial President (Kashmir), Women’s Wing, Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri – Zonal President, South Kashmir, Shabir Ahmed Kulay – Vice President, South Kashmir,. Altaf Ahmed Kaloo – District President, Anantnag . Nazir Ahmed Malik – Zonal Secretary, North Kashmir
