The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Working President of National Conference Omar Abdullah has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s use of word ‘yagna’ in his tweet while thanking people for fight against black money and corruption.

On completion of one month of announcement of demonetising Rs.500 and Rs.1000 currency notes the Prime Minister tweeted, “I salute the people of India for wholeheartedly participating in this ongoing Yagna against corruption, terrorism & black money.”
Omar questioned the use of word yagna which is associated with Hinduism. He in response tweeted, “Does the PM’s use of the word Yagna, which has very obvious religious overtones, aim to make it tougher for true believers to oppose?”
