Srinagar, April 10:
A soldier and a militant were killed in an ongoing encounter in Khudwani , Kulgam in South Kashmir on Wednesday .
The initial reports suggested that the encounter started in Wani mohalla, Kulgam when the security forces had laid a cordon to trace the militants hiding in the locality.
Three soldiers were injured when the militants opened fire on the soldiers who were closing in on them . One of them succumbed . later one militant also is reported to have died in the encounter.
Meanwhile, a large number of villagers gathered close to the encounter site with stones. They threw stones at the security forces.
