Pakistan army is set to release Indian soldier Chandu Babulal Chauhan who had accidentally crossed the LoC in September last year coinciding with the surgical strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Sources said that a broad agreement has been reached after several calls between the Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan that Pakistan army would hand over the Indian soldier to the Indian army on Saturday.
Chauhan had inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir from Uri sector in Kashmir on September 29, the day Indian army had conducted surgical strikes across the LoC and damaged Pakistan-built terror infrastructure in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan had claimed that it had captured the Indian soldier who was part of the military aggression .
The Indian army had mounted surgical strikes after the September 18 terror attack at its army unit in Uri . Twenty soldiers had lost their lives in that attack.
