Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh regretted Pakistan’s continuing support to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir despite Imran Khan’s vows to improve ties with India , indicating that Islamabad has not changed under the new regime .
Rajnath Singh who is on a day’s visit to Jammu , during which he commenced smart fence along the international border with Pakistan , was talking to reporters at Jammu Frontier headquarters here . He sad that since the infiltration and the terror activities were continuing from across the border , he did not “ see any change in the attitude of Pakistan.”
The Union home Minister who was briefed about the security situation along the borders and also in the hinterland , said that the smart fence, which was an Israeli technology, would help BSF save its physical presence along the borders. The international border in Jammu region has been a source of infiltration for Pakistani terrorists into the Indian side of border.
Rajnath Singh’s visit to Jammu came a day after the State Election Commission announced schedule for the long-awaited Municipal and Panchayat elections . He sought the details about the security situation in the State , and security forces’ strategy to provide a secure environment for the smooth conduct of the polls that would be touching each and every corner of the State.
