Pakistan has shown its true colours . The killing of five migrant labourers in Kulgam district in South Kashmir last night is the most gruesome act in Kashmir since August 5, when special status of J&K was scrapped . Pakistan had warned of bloodbath in Kashmir, and when every trick in its terror text book failed to incite the people in the Valley to hit streets to oblige Islamabad’s designs – they did not clash with the forces and become part of mayhem that it had been seeking to generate in the Valley, it has now come own to the most horrific nature of things. The killing of five non-local labourers from West Bengal fits into this design .The blood-thirsty nature of Pakistani militants or those trained by it is visible all over.
What exactly is Pakistan to achieve . It is not only the killing of the non-locals that it is asking the terrorists to do it, it is hitting hard at Kashmiri ethos , culture , economy and instilling a sense of fear among the local people.
The names of the killed on Tuesday nightmake it clear that the terrorists have no love for any faith. All the victims were Muslims from West Bengal , who had been working in the valley to help Valley in construction ventures and helping in making Kashmiri apples to reach markets in the victory.
The killers would be identified and neutralized soon, but the loss of the lives of poor labourers will haunt their families back home forever. Pakistan is delighted that the poor people have died and the European Union delegation that was on a visit of the Valley will get a feeling that the things are not normal in Kashmir . But, the fact is that the EU delegation will understand that how Pakistan has been seeking to infiltrate and kill Kashmiris’ economy, and causing immense damage to Kashmir’s image.
