Jammu, October 24:

NC has been a victim of conspiracies since 1953

National Conference (NC) Additional General Secretary Dr. Mustafa Kamal today again targeted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alleging that party has surrendered rights of Jammu and Kashmir before New Delhi.

Dr. Kamal alleged that PDP has compromised on everything including its conscience for power and has turned out to be a messenger of Government of India with Union Home Minister calling the shots. “The present J&K government has been reduced to a dummy and has lost all moral right to stay in power”, he claimed.

At a meeting of party workers today at Sher-i- Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu Dr. Kamaal expressed his dismay at the continuing tirade against the National Conference and its founder late Sheikh Mohamamd Abdullah holding him responsible for all the ills confronting the State.

“Sheikh Abdullah steered the impoverished people of Kashmir out of over four hundred years of slavery and serfdom when injustice was the order of the day. And, without wasting time put J&K on the path of peace and progress does not seem to ring a bell with these detractors of National Conference”, Dr Kamal said.

He stuck to him guns regarding special status of the state and commitment made by the Government of India in the Parliament and the United Nations for which Sheikh was made to pay a heavy price by his unconstitutional and illegal dismissal as Prime Minister in 1953 and over a decade and a half of jail term between 1953-1975.

“The erosion of J&K constitution and Article 370 of the Indian constitution started soon afterwards by Central Government through its puppet governments from 1953 to 1975”, he alleged.

Senior NC said that party has been a victim of conspiracies since dawn of Indian independence because it has been espousing the cause people.

“Labeling NC as pro-Indian by those who participated in Assembly and Panchayat elections more than once taking oath on the J&K and Indian constitution is a cruel joke. Such people have played  into the hands of agencies  to the detriment of the  vital interests of the people of J&K”, he alleged.

JKNC in keeping with the legacy of Sher- i- Kashmir will continue to strive for Indo- Pak reconciliation to find a solution to J&K issue.
