Srinagar, April 14:

In what appears to be a major  roll back of its high moral ground and the pitch for Kashmir resolution , the People’s Democratic Party  on Saturday announced that its alliance with BJP will continue .

“ There is no threat to the government, PDP and BJP are on the same page as the BJP has shown  it by taking a decisive action against its ministers ( Chander Prakash Ganga  and Lal Singh who had demanded CBI inquiry  into the rape and murder of  eight-year-old Asifa at a rally in Kathua last month ).”

The two ministers  were  made to resign by the  BJP high command what was described as  “ indiscretion” on their part .

PDP  led coalition government’s spokesperson  and PWD minister Naeem Akhtar  told media after a crucial meeting of the party outside Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s residence  that there was no threat to the government.

He ruled out  PDP pulling out of the government on the failure of Delhi  to resolve the Kashmir issue .

He said that the nation’s outrage  over the Asifa rape and murder has  set up new  bonds between the peoples of the Kashmir Valley and rest of the country. That will help the State to overcome many other issues.
