The villagers alleged that the Jammu and Kashmir  under the political pressure of the state government  was not allowing the fair investigations as the police team probing the heinous crime was manufacturing the evidence against the members  of one community to cause communal trouble in the peaceful area . They said that nothing short of CBI inquiry into the incident would satisfy them.

The police instead of allowing the peace march which sought justice for the victim and communal harmony resorted to brute lathicharge  injuring  some people .

The police have also arrested some of the  leaders of the peace march.
