National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today sought restoration of mobile internet and fast track recruitment to various categories of posts in almost all the departments, accumulated to huge numbers in recent years.

Speaking at a function held in connection with joining of a prominent political and social activist of Katalbatal in Nagrota Assembly Constituency Mangat Ram along with his supporters in National Conference here,  Rana also called for restoration of internet services in the larger interest of trade, commerce, industry, tourism and academics of the youth.

In this era of information technology, communication blockade for a long spell of time is unjust and uncalled for, especially when the broadband services were operative with affordable segment of society making unhindered use of the connectivity without posing any threat to security environment, he said, adding that only poor feel denial of the facility. He hoped that the centre and the local administration will take call on the justified demand of the people and restore mobile internet connectivity.

Drawing attention of the administration towards despondency among youth, especially educated unemployed, the Provincial President sought expeditious and time bound recruitment to large number of vacancies in various departments. In fact, the government should come out with a calendar on fast-track recruitment and make synergized efforts between designated authorities and departments concerned, he said, calling for out of box solution to address the burgeoning unemployment problem. Due attention is also needed to be paid to create openings for skilled and unskilled work force, he added.

Alongside filling up the vacancies in various departments, he called for special recruitment drives in police as well.

The Provincial President also referred to erratic utility services, especially power and drinking water, saying focussed attention is needed to be paid towards ensuring the supply in view of the on-going winter. He said unprecedented cold wave is also posing threat to life of homeless and there is need to create proper arrangements like shelter spaces for these marginalized segments of the society.

Rana stressed on giving impetus to the developmental projects and implementation of various welfare schemes so that benefits percolate down to targeted population in a time bound manner.

Welcoming Mangat Ram and his large number of supporters into the party fold, Rana said this will further strengthen the National Conference at grass roots level.

“NC is the only destination for people believing in unity in diversity and wishing to serve the people”, Rana added.
