Kashmiri Pandit community have expressed their concern over the confusion for celebrating the Shivratri festival and now decided to celebrate it on February 13.
A meeting of the Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front J&K was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) / Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K. The meeting was attended by the office bearers and members / intellectuals.
During the course of meeting various issues relating to the Kashmiri Pandit Community were discussed in detail and participants have expressed their concern over the confusion for celebrating the Shivratri Festival whether on 12th & 13th of February, 2018.
After detailed discussions the participants came to a conclusion that for uniformity of the community the Shivratri Festival shall be celebrated on 13th of February, 2018 the actual date for celebrations.
An appeal has been made to the Community to follow the celebration of Shivratri Festival on its due date.
A demand has been made to the Government for announcing holiday on 14th of February, 2018.
