JAMMU, DECEMBER 24: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta has handed over the keys of modified Scooties to the specially- able person at a simple but impressive function organized by the local people of Gandhi Nagar Constituency at Bhour Kullian today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that several welfare Centrally Sponsored and State schemes have been launched for the people including specially-able persons in the State of Jammu and Kashmir with the aim to improve the living standard of the weaker sections of the society. He said that need of the hour is to identify the cases for which he instructed the concerned to conduct survey of Gandhi Nagar Constituency and prepare a list of the beneficiaries and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary approval.
He said that every possible help to be given to needy person and said that our main focus should be on to reach and uplift the living standard especially weaker sections of the society.
Referring to the developmental works under execution in the constituency, the Speaker said that the construction work on various micro and macro developmental projects are apace in the Constituency and said that the construction work on various developmental works worth Rs 33 crore would be started soon in the constituency.
The Speaker said that the main focus should be given on to provide the basic facilities to the people including, clean water, uninterrupted power supply, up gradation and construction of lane and drains, roads. He also sought cooperation from the local people to fulfillment of their genuine demands.
The Speaker stressed upon the local people that they should come forward to project their grievances and demands related to development of the areas so that the necessary steps in this regard could be taken as early as possible.
Enroute, people at different places projected their demands including ensuring of adequate drinking water facilities, power supply, construction of lane, drains, link roads and upgradation of health infrastructure in the area. The Speaker gave them patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.
