Jammu, January 10: Jammu Province Contractor Association on Wendesday lashed out at the state government for ignoring the local contractors.

Addressing the Media at Jammu, JPCA President Suraj Mahendru alleged that Government is following a baised approach for MNC and local contractors of Jammu Province are being sidelined without any reason.He criticised the Government of waging a war against the local contractors by promoting MNC in the state.

Mahendru while showing his resentment against the state government said that local contractors of Jammu region are well equipped with latest machinery and tools to carry out the projects but the Government is promoting MNC’s in the State which is major threat for local contractors who have invested their hard earned money in brining these high-tech machinery in the State. He also said that local contractors are higly professional and have experience of about 20-25 years.

“The present Government has become a nuisance for economic development of Jammu region. Just to keep the MNC’s happy, they are ruining the life of local contractors” alleged JPCA President.

JPCA also alleged that even Court order which restricts out of State numbered dumpers from working within the State is being violated by these MNC’s. They also said that Project Directors of these MNC’s hire their own contractors for execution of the tender which also is cause of worry. Payments of Local contractors who are hired by these MNC’s are being delayed for no reasons.

Besides President Suraj Mahendru; Gen eral Secretary Inderpreet Singh, Secretary Kuldeep Sharma and Cashier Rajinder Singh briefed media persons here in Jammu. Among other members Vijay Khajuria, Rakesh Bodhi, Chetan Chopra, Munish Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Kapil Sharma, Randhir Singh (Rips construction), Gian singh and Swarn Singh were present.
