Rajouri, March 29:

State police today called off its area sanitization operation at the site of Sunderbani encounter, where whole arms and ammunition belonging to militants were recovered from the area.

A police officer said that after elimination of all the four terrorists Wednesday evening, area-sanitization operation was started by Rajouri police in coordination with other security agencies and a team of police headed by DySP Operations Sukhdev Singh along with SHO Sunderbani Tilak Raj conducted this operation for 24 hours till today evening.

During the area sanitization, one square kilometre area of the encounter site was put to searches and frisking to ensure that no militant’s arms, ammunition or any other belonging is left behind and after clearance, area sanitization was called off today evening.

Arms and ammunition along with other belongings recovered from the group of four militants include 04 AK Rifles, 18 AK Magazines,  04 Improvised Explosive Devices, 4 Pouches, 3 Bags, 250 AK rounds, 02 Radio Sets, 06 Hand Grenades, Some Medicines, 08 Cells, 01 Torch, 01 Lighter, 02 Thin Ropes, 02 Glove Pairs, 01 Plastic Bottle, 02 Hand Watches, 01 Chocolate, 01 Ear Phone, 01 Pen and some eatables.

Bodies of militants were also buried today after legal formalities.
