Not Salman Khan, neither Aamir Khan not Shah Rukh Khan but Sushant Singh Rajput has turned out to be the top actor on Google Trends 2016! Sushant stands first whereas Salman has bagged the fifth position. Now that’s a little too surprising, isn’t it? Sushant, who gave a blockbuster hit this year with MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has been in the news throughout the year. First it was for his breakup with Ankita Lokhande, then for the stupendous performance he gave in MS Dhoni and now because of his alleged love affair with Kriti Sanon. Clearly, the actor knows how to be in the limelight!
Another reason why SSR is the top trending Bollywood actor is also because he is highly active on social media. We all know that its the best way for fans to connect with their favourite stars. Sushant keeps posting stuff on his Twitter and Insta feed. And no, these aren’t regular party pictures or on-the-sets pictures. Sushant is the new gyaan guru of Bollywood. He keeps sharing motivational thoughts, philosophical quotes and maybe a piece of advice or two quite regularly on social media.
What also made news this year is that SSR was offered to play Hrithik Roshan’s role in Mohenjo Daro. The film tanked miserably at the box office. Rumour had it that Sushant was thanking his stars to have not accepted the project in the first place.
Apart from that, there have been reports circulating online that say that the actor is apparently miffed with Ranveer Singh. Why? Because Aditya Chopra’s Befikre was promised to him but eventually, RS was finalised for the role. Apart from Sushant, Kabir Bedi (2), Harshvardhan Kapoor (3), Pulkit Samrat (4) and Salman Khan (5) are among the top trending celebs on Google for this year.
