A Sweets workshop with unhygienic conditions was sealed by the enforcement team of Food Safety department, here at Talab Tillo
On the basis of a specific complaint, the team, under the supervision of Designated Officer, Dr. Parvesh Kumar, conducted surprise inspection in the area and the erring owner of the workshop at Panjpeer Gole Puli was found making sweets under unhygienic conditions and without any Food license as mandated under FSS Act 2006 & Regulations made there under.
The Designated Officer sealed the premises of manufacturing and lifted two statutory samples of sweats for analysis in the Public Health Laboratory. Around 280 KG sweets were destroyed on the spot to avoid its human consumption. Further, one sample of carbonated water (Campa Brand) was also lifted during the inspection.
The Food & Drugs Administration has directed the enforcement staff to take cognizance of all Food Business Operators carrying out their business without Food License Registration which is punishable offence under the provisions of the Food Safety &Standards Act, 2006 and the regulations made there under.
The Food Business Operators are also advised to comply with the mandatory provisions of Food Law to avoid any legal action which includes imprisonment up to 6 months and fine upto Rs. 5 Lakhs.
