The police have arrested a teacher of government school in Kreeri for allegedly raping and impregnating his student .
A top police official, told Rising Kashmir – a Kashmir based newspaper- in a report that the accused was arrested on April 15, after a complaint by Pattan hospital authorities about the crime.
Police said that the accused teacher was arrested for allegedly raping and then illegally attempting to terminate the pregnancy.
The news report claimed that it has learnt that the teacher took the student to the hospital for an abortion, after which the hospital authorities called the police.
“FIR has been registered. Accused is behind bars and is on remand by competent Court. Charge sheet will be produced before Court in due course of time,” the official said.
A case under FIR No.22/2018 U/S 376,315/RPC has been registered in this case.
