Jammu, March 02:

Expressing serious concern over deteriorating law and order situation in Samba and Kathua districts following alleged murder and rape of a minor girl in Rassana village of Hiranagar, Team Jammu today lambasted BJP leadership for its failure to restore shattered confidence of the people.

Team Jammu today strongly demanded justice for the victim Asifa without harassing and torturing locals, who have already offered full support to the people in the investigation of the heinous crime.

A meeting of volunteers was convened here today to discuss the situation arising in Kathua district as well agitating people of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote belts, during which, Chairman of the Team Jammu Zorawar Singh Jamwal took BJP leadership to task for befooling locals of Hiranagar, who have been demanding that this highly sensitive case should be handed over to the country’s premier investigating agency CBI.

“It is really unfortunate that in BJP’s rule a large number of families of Hindus were forced to leave their homes and hearths due to alleged torture and harassment by the sleuths of Crime Branch, investigating the brutal crime”, he pointed out and added that it was duty of the BJP ministers in the government to ensure fair and credible probe in the case by winning trust and confidence of all sections of the society.

“Instead of befooling the people, BJP ministers, who are equal part of the government, should hand over this case to the CBI without any delay”, Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal said and added that it will not be for the first time that any heinous case would be transferred to CBI, as earlier also, number of cases have been handed over to the CBI for investigation for fair probe.

Team Jammu endorsed demand of the local people to handover this case to the CBI as locals have condemned in unequivocal terms the murder and alleged rape of minor girl and demanded that the real culprits be given exemplary punishment as per law of the land. He said that locals have never demanded release of the arrested accused but they are only demanding fair probe to ensure justice to the victim teenager and also no innocent is illegally booked or harassed.

Team Jammu also extended full support to the ongoing agitation being launched by residents of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote in support of district status and creation of posts of Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs).

Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal regretted that instead of creating new administrative units to fulfill genuine demands of the people this regime is brazenly taking such steps with political considerations. The agitating people are raising a genuine issue and it must be conceded without any further delay.
