Srinagar,  March 20       To effectively motivate and provide a platform to traders, a Traders’ Mela was conducted by the Army at Manigam, Ganderbal which hosted more than 600 men, women and children of the Ganderbal District. The Mela incorporated shops by various traders and stalls were established by the Agriculture Department, Khadi Bhandar, Carpenters, Carpet weavers, Shawls Makers, Leather Apparel Manufacturers, Utensil Traders, Electronics, etc.

            Further, to provide various facilities to the large gathering, a Medical Camp was also established which addressed health related issues of people from far flung areas. Specialist doctors from local hospitals were also incorporated who treated more than 250 patients. An Aadhar awareness counter and an SBI counter were also established. Cultural programme on Kashmiriyat was conducted, in which participants of various schools presented folk songs, hindi songs, dances and skits. Fun Park for children, volleyball court for the youth and Mobile Youth Centre were also placed. Prizes were distributed to participants in various culture programmes and sports events. The event was successful and the attendees appreciated this initiative by the Army
