Governor N N Vohra has given his consent to the removal of Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu on the recommendations of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The Raj Bhavan had received a letter to sack the minister from Chief Minister in the late afternoon. The letter assigned political reasons for sacking Drabu , who had been Finance Minister in the current ministry since the PDP- BJP stitched coalition in 2015.
Chief Minister had written a letter to the Governor soon after her arrival here from New Delhi recommending the removal of Haseeb Drabu .
Drabu was caught in a political storm after he declared that “ Kashmir was not a political problem” but had assumed societal issues .
This was not to the liking of the Chief Minister and she decided to send a strong message that such utterances would not be tolerated.
