Western Army Commander has conducted two days visit to the forward areas in Samba-Pathankot Sector which concluded on Friday.
According to the officials, General officer Commanding in Command (GoC-in-C) Western Command, Lt Gen Surinder Singh visited forward areas of Samba and Pathankot Sector on Feb 8 and Feb 9. The Western Army Commander was briefed by Lt Gen Mohan, General Officer in Command, Rising Star Corps, on the prevailing situation in the Jammu- Pathankot region and the security measures in place.
The army commander reviewed the preparedness of the army in the region and stressed on ensuring fail-safe security measures. He appreciated the coordinated efforts being made by all security agencies in the area.
In view of the prevailing situation and recent incidents he emphasised the need for a high state of alertness and preparedness. He also interacted with commanders and troops during his visit and appreciated their high state of morale.
