Srinagar, June 18 :
A youth was killed and another injured in alleged army firing at Nowpora area of Mir Bazar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday evening when the forces came under heavy stone pelting by protestors.
Police said that a group of youth pelted on army’s 9 RR party with stones.
In the incident, two persons suffered serious bullet wounds.
Both the injured were taken to Janglat Mandi hospital in neighboring Anantnag
One youth identified as Aijaz Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Nowpora Akhran was declared brought dead on arrival.
Another injured Rayees Ahmad was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.
