Jammu, October 25:

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said that his country achieved nothing out of the Kargil war of 1999 and blamed the army Generals of the time for the fiasco, and also charged the current military leadership for pushing the country to brink.

Nawaz Sharif has been exposing the misdeeds of Pakistani army and its leadership in the recent weeks, calling it as “ state above state” and has also been very boldly naming the army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director General of spy agency ISI Faiz Hameed for creating all the mess in the country . He has taken on the army and its “ selected government of Imran Khan” for pushing the people to wall as the country is reeling from shortages and high prices of the essential commodities .This has pushed the common Pakistanis to penury.

Addressing a rally of People’s Democratic Movement, an alliance of 11 opposition parties , in Quetta, Baluchistan , from London , Nawaz Sharif spilled the beans about the Kargil war and recalled that how Pakistani soldiers were made to fight without food and weapons. He blamed former army chief Pervez Musharraf for thrusting Kargil war with India in 1999 in which Pakistan had to withdraw the troops from the trans-Himalayan heights where it had entered stealthily during 1998-99 winter.

The reference to Kargil war and its nothingness for Pakistan at this stage is having profound political, diplomatic and military meanings . Politically, Nawaz is saying that it would be suicidal for Pakistan to embark on any misadventure with India for that could repeat the zero rather minus results that were delivered by Kargil war initiated by Pakistan . Pakistani Generals , backed by China, have been talking of war with India. Militarily, he is telling the soldiers that when the country’s economy is sagging and the people are engaged in personal struggles of survival , such misadventure could bring untold hardships during an unnecessary war.

The world is also supposed to get a message out of it that Pakistan army uses the cover of Kashmiri militants to push its agenda from diverting attention from the real issues facing the country, and it cannot be just a coincidence that FATF has just kept Pakistan on grey list , not edged it out of it.

Nawaz Sharif was Prime Minister of Pakistan when Kargil war took place. He knows each and everything what transpired that time.
