Srinagar, October 31:

The Centre is zeroing in on a political person of repute and integrity to fill the position of advisor that has fallen vacant following resignation of K K Sharma on Friday.

Sharma has been appointed as State Election Commissiner since. He will be responsible for all polls up to the level of District Development Councils in all the 20 districts of J&K.

Meanwhile, Centre is looking for a politician for the position of advisor to J&K, sources said. The Centre wants to give political profile to the UT administration to blunt the criticism of political vacuum in J&K.

LG Manoj Sinha is a politician with a reputation of being a doer.
Many BJP leaders in J&K are pushing their name for the position, including some office bearers and former ministers.
