Jammu, Jan 03:

MLC of BJP and grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh Ajatshatru Singh may lodge protest inside the State Legislative Council for not declaring Maharaja’s birth anniversary as a state holiday.

The BJP MLC also not submitted any resolution and Private Member Bill to the Upper House in the protest against the non-implementation of his previous Resolution, which was passed on January 2017 during last Budget Session, but not implemented.

The MLC confirmed that he has not submitted any resolution or Private Member Bill this time, added, “I have done this under protest as if there is no fun to send the resolution and getting passed, but in the end it has not been implemented.”

However, the MLA has submitted 20 questions including 13 starred and 7 un-starred, but also added that he has not even submitted any question regarding holiday of Maharaja, because there is no fun to discuss this issue again, when it is upto government to declare the holiday.

Sources said that few other BJP MLCs are ready to join Ajatshatru into protest against State Government on the beginning of proceedings of House on Wednesday.

The resolution on the subject was moved in the Legislative Council by the BJP Member  Ajatshatru Singh ( Grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh). It was seconded by the PDP MLC Surinder Choudhary and BJP member Vibodh Gupta. The entire opposition had staged walk out from the House before this issue. Only members from the Treasury benches were present in the House.  Ajatshatru Singh moved resolution stating that 23rd September, the birthday of  Maharaja Hari Singh, the last ruler of  the State,  be declared as a State holiday as a mark of respect to him.
