Governor Satya Pal Malik said in Jammu on Wednesday that “ there would be no compromise on corruption “ and promised that he would strive to uproot it come what may .
While talking to media at Raj Bhavan , the Governor said that “the corruption is deep-seated in Kashmir . had that not been the case, things would have been different.” He elaborated this by saying that the “ amount of money sent for Kashmir , the Valley would have been a place of gold .”
This was first visit of Malik to Jammu since he became the Governor on August 23.
He said that he has seen lot of difference in the lifestyle of the people in Kashmir. On the one hand , there is opulence and , on the other, there is extreme poverty. He denied the charge that he is defaming the Kashmir.
He said that his movement against corruption will continue as long as he was here. “ I had come with a suitcase and I will leave with the same suitcase.”
