Srinagar, June 8:

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has taken a strong note of the Mehbooba Mufti government’s propensity   to   register FIRs against the security personnel who  are caught in deadly situations created by  stone  throwers and gun men .

He gave a hint of the serious view that he had taken regarding the FIRs registered against the Central  Armed Paramilitary Forces ( C APFs) at a press conference in Jammu on Friday  when he said that he had spoken to Chief Minister  about the FIRs against the CRPF and other security personnel. “ I have spoken to Chief Minister about  ( FIRs)  ,” he said in reply to a question whether the FIR registered against a CRPF personnel who had to negotiate  through near-lynch situation in Nowhatta on June 1 .

The context was the government’s action against CRPF driver whose vehicle was caught in a shower of stones and was about to be lynched when he sped away from the crowd. A youth came under the wheels of the vehicle and he succumbed to his injuries later.

The Home Minister  apparently meant that the Centre has not approved of the state government’s action. This was an indirect way of saying that these FIRs were a way by the state government to hide its failure in creating no deployment zones.

“ The security personnel are working in very difficult situations in Kashmir and we cannot demoralize  them by such  unwarranted actions,” the home minister is reported to have told the Chief Minister.

Home Minister also  told Chef Minister that her stand on Rohingiyas was  not  in the interest of the national security. “ They will have to go back where from they came here,” he said.
