Jammu, March 13:

Former Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu  has alleged that even after more than 24 hours of his getting dropped from the ministry, no official communication has  been made  to him.

In a statement here on Tuesday  in which he  has sequenced the turn of events that led to his departure  from the cabinet on the recommendations of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on  Monday , Drabu said that “ Even as I issue this statement , I have no formal  or even personal communication either from the government  or from the party  about my being dropped  from the Cabinet on 12th of March . I stand  informed by the media  first as speculation  then as a  fact..”

In his  21-point  statement , Drabu has not only clarified the contexts and context of his speech at PHDCCI , New Delhi on March 9 , making it clear that he was focusing  on the space for Kashmiri society and termed the advisories against visiting  Kashmir as a “ social boycott.” He said that the speech’s tone and tenor should have been  taken in that context.  But, at no stage he sounds apologetic about the speech he delivered , rather claims that it was his firm and long held belief that he  aired at the Ambassadors’ meet in New Delhi.

He has also narrated how he was  treated by the party and the Chief Minister after March 9th speech, particularly on Sunday and Monday.

Short of saying that he was humiliated , he said that the  man who had drafted so many election manifestoes  was treated like a pariah .

In the Conclusion , he reposes his faith in God Almighty and  underlined : since

God has been kind to me there is no

reason for me not to trust in his benevolence this time round. I stand by

my choices, political or otherwise. And firmly believe that He knows best!”
