J.P.Singh, Executive Director has taken over the charge of Northern Region Transmission System –II of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.                Sh.J.P.Singh shall be responsible for  Operation and Maintenance and Project execution  of EHV/ UHV transmission lines and Substations under Central transmission projects in the states of J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab,  parts of Haryana and UT Chandigarh. Shri J.P.Singh  is a competent professional with over 35 years of extensive experience in Project Management, Distribution Management and Contracts Management  in Power Sector. Sh. J.P.Singh is an authority in Contract services with more than 23 years of expertise in this area. He has experience of awarding International funded contracts. Sh. J.P.Singh  prior to joining in POWERGRID has  also served in National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd.(NTPC).   In POWERGRID Sh. J.P.Singh has worked in Corporate Contracts, as head of Projects in Northern Region-I, as head of both projects and Operation & Maintenance in Eastern Region-II , as Head of Region in Eastern Region –II and at other Senior levels. He  has also served as Director  in Teesta Valley Power Transmission Limited(a Joint Venture Company of  POWERGRID and  Teesta Urja Limited ). Sh. J.P.Singh had a brief stint as Head of National Transmission  Asett Management Centre and Corporate LD&C at Gurgaon also. Among his major achievements are Construction of Kahgaon-II and TALA transmission systems in Northern Region-I , 400 Kv Ranchi-Sepat Inter Regional Transmission line in Eastern Region-I. This is the second stint of Sh. J.P. Singh as Executive Director NRTS-II. Prior to this Sh. J.P.Singh had headed this region from December 2012 to September 2014.
