Jammu, Dec 27- University of Jammu has been awarded Annual Refresher Programme in Teaching (ARPIT) by Ministry of Human Resource Department, New Delhi.  Annual Refresher Programme in Teaching (ARPIT) will cater to all the in-service teachers, irrespective of their subject, management and seniority every year. This training will be imparted as MOOCs using SWAYAM platform and would focus on latest developments in the subject, pedagogical improvements and methodologies for transacting revised curriculum.

For implementing ARPIT, Dept of Home Science, University of Jammu has been identified and notified as one among the few National Resource Centres (NRCs). These institutions are tasked to prepare online training material with focus on latest developments in the discipline, pedagogical improvements and methodologies for transacting revised curriculum. Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu said the Annual Refresher Programme in Teaching (ARPIT) will contribute to raising awareness and instill leadership qualities among faculties of higher educational institutions. Prof Dhar further congratulated Prof Neeru Sharma, Prof Shashi Manhas of Home Science Dept and Prof J.P S Joorel and Sh Ranjeet Kalra of UGC-HRDC for bagging this prestigious project. It is pertinent to mention here that the UGC has taken a decision to treat ARPIT course of 40 hours/duration as equivalent to one Refresher Course for CAS.
