Massive protests by lawyers at Court in Court Complex Kathua today prevented the Crime Branch to file the charge sheet of Asifa murder case in Hirnagar.
The team of Crime Branch of State Police today came to Court premises along with accused escorted by district police for filing the charge sheet or challan into the rape-and-murder of minor girl (Asifa Bano) in January 2018.
The team of Crime Branch constituted by the state government in February after completing investigations, on Monday alongwith the accused allegedly involved in the rape and murder of the minor girl reached the court premises at around 4:15 pm, but a large number of lawyers already assembled in the court and started protest. “
Sources said that later the CB team reached the official residence of the CJM at 7:30 pm, but he refused to received the charge sheet at his residence and tell the CB team to submit the challan at the Court on Tuesday morning.
Lawyers of Kathua under the presidentship of Advocate Kurti Bhushan, president Kathua Bar Association will also hold protest at CJM court tomorrow.
