In two separate operations, joint teams of Indian Army and J&K Police busted major cache of weapons, ammunition and other war like stores in Haribudha and Bhatidhar forests in Poonch.

The Defence Spokesperson, Lt Col Devender Anand said that acting on a specific input as regards likely presence of arms cache, a joint search operation by Rashtriya Rifles  and JK Police was launched on 26 February 2018. During the search operation, two Pistols, grenades of various types including Rocket Propelled grenades and UBGL grenades, communication equipment, GPS, IEDs / Explosives, ammunition of AK 47 and other war like stores were recovered. Currency worth Rs 50,000/- was also found at the site of recovery.

This successful operation has foiled the nefarious designs of terrorists and inimical elements who are continuously intending to vitiate prevalent security environment in both Poonch and Rajouri Dist.
