Jammu, March 2:
Contrary to the impression that the Jammu and Kashmir Government had ordered an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the selection of Khadi and Village Industries Board by a panel headed by Chief Secretary, no such orders have been issued.
The state government’s General Administration Department has denied that it has any issued any order to this effect.
The announcement of the probe was ordered by Chief Minister after it came to be known that her cousin Aroot Madni had been selected as the Executive Officer in the Board and the other candidates had alleged nepotism.
Now it transpires that no inquiry has been ordered into the selections.
On February 25, an official hand out had said : Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today directed holding of a high level inquiry into the procedural inadequacies in the selection process of the Jammu & Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), the results of which were declared a couple of days ago.
The inquiry would be held by a committee headed by the Chief Secretary and it has been asked to furnish its report in a short time.
