Jammu, March 20:

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the death of 39 Indians abducted by the Islamic State in Iraq the disclosure of which  was made by the minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj in Parliament on Tuesday .

In a tweet , Mehbooba wrote : “Distressed to hear of the brutal killing of 39 Indian workers after their abduction in Iraq. My heart goes out to the families & kin of these unfortunate victims.”

National Conference working president Omar  Abdullah lashed out at the grave insensitivity shown by the Government of India toward the families of the victims.

He termed it as an “ unpardonable” act

He tweeted : “Nothing Govt of India says can make up for the sheer heartlessness displayed today. Using Parliament as an excuse for the families of 39 dead Indians having to learn of their heartbreaking loss from TV channels is unpardonable.”

Senior people in MEA, if not the Minister & her junior minister themselves, should have spoken to each of the 39 families before the news of the deaths was made public.
