Jammu, September 19:

Taking a note of the persistent demands by the passengers for bringing air travel facilities at par with other airports in India, the restriction in place related to carrying of hand baggage in outbound flights from airports in the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been eased out by the security agencies and airlines. As a result of this passengers can carry hand baggage in accordance with Bureau of Civil Aviation Security regulations, in outbound flights from Jammu airport.

These restrictions were imposed way back in 90’s because of hyper sensitive security scenario prevalent in the State of J&K, which forced airlines and security agencies to restrict carrying cabin baggage by the passenger travelling from airports in the state.

It would be recalled that recently Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has done away the practice of baggage identification by the passenger before boarding the aircraft in the month of May 2018 and with restrictions of carrying hand baggage by passengers being eased out, will enhance passenger convenience and better their travel experience.
