Mission YUVA – Converting Youth Aspirations into Enterprises
Mission YUVA, steered by the Department of Employment and Skill Development, is a comprehensive entrepreneurship and livelihood initiative designed to convert youth from job-seeking to job-creating. Built upon four pillars — Culture (mindset), Capital (credit & subsidy), Capacity (skills & training), and Connectivity (digital & market linkage) — the Mission aims to establish 1.37 lakh enterprises generating 4.25 lakh employment opportunities over five years.
A UT-wide Baseline Survey covering 23.64 lakh households and 1.1 crore individuals has identified five lakh potential entrepreneurs, whose ideas are being supported through the institutional network of Small Business Development Units (SBDUs), Business Help Desks (BHDs), and YUVA-Doots at the grassroots level.
Technology and Transparency
Through the Mission YUVA Portal (www.missionyuva.jk.gov.in), applications are received, DPRs generated using AI-based tools, and credit linked digitally with banks — ensuring efficiency and transparency throughout the process.
A New Chapter in J&K’s Economic Transformation
The ₹100 crore single-day disbursal stands as a resounding testament to Jammu & Kashmir’s collective determination to empower youth and stimulate local enterprise. The Government’s sustained focus on credit enablement, capacity building, and market connectivity under Mission YUVA is setting new benchmarks in inclusive, technology-driven growth.
