Union Home Minister Amit Shah on police commemoration day on Friday commended police forces’ efforts in ensuring imp[roved security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and North-East .
While speaking at the police commemoration day , Shah made a special mention of Jammu and Kashmir where normalcy has begun with the tireless efforts and sacrifices of the police forces throughout the Union Territory. The saga of sacrifices of the police forces whether J&K police or CRPF had begun way back in 1990, the zero-calendar year of the eruption of Pakistan sponsored militancy in Kashmir. More than 42,000 people have lost their lives and in these more than 1600 were from J&K police .
Shah said that the police forces had played a key role in ensuring the development of the country by laying down their lives in the line of duty and guarding the places and people from the enemies of peace .
