BISHNAH: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has demanded restoration of democratic system and Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

As per a press release, a one-day convention was organized at village Deoli, Bishnah by Ashwani Kumar, Apni Party leader.

The convention was chaired by Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh.

During the convention, the Former Minister quoting the demands of the people has urged the Govt to open an ITI College in the area and a special recruitment drive should be started for the unemployed youth in Bishnah and its adjoining areas.

“The unemployment has increased among the unemployed youth in Bishnah, Deoli, and other villages whereas the scope of employment has reduced in the industrial sector,” he said.

He further said that the unemployed youth have been falling into the trap of drug addiction that needs to be handled with careful crafting of policy for their employment in army, paramilitary forces, and J&K Police.

He also demanded reservation for the local youth in the Industrial units of Bari Brahmana so that the skilled and unskilled youth of Bishnah and other adjoining areas could be employed there.

“The industrial units have engaged workers on contract basis and majority of the employees in the industrial sector are from outside J&K. It is the responsibility of the Govt to ensure reservation of jobs for local youth from the surroundings of the respective industrial areas,” he said.

Referring to the growing concerns of the people regarding development; he said that there is no alternative to an elected Govt.

“The elections must be held to address the concerns of the people from both the regions. The development has received a setback with no elected Govt in place. Therefore, it becomes imperative to hold assembly elections in J&K as early as possible, besides restoring statehood,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the organizer of the program at village Deoli and lauded the participation.

“The participation of people in large numbers in the convention is an encouraging response to the policy and agenda of the Apni Party that has received an endorsement from the people,” said the Former Minister.

Regarding empowerment of women, he said the Apni Party believes in the empowerment of all the sections of society, especially women for their social, educational, and political purposes so that they can empower the society.

He also highlighted the commitment of the Party towards the upliftment of the people through various schemes.

He said the Party has committed that it would enhance the widow pension/handicapped pension/old age pension up to Rs 5000, will provide four cooking gas cylinders to each poor family under Ujjwala scheme, will also enhance the marriage assistance to the poor girls up to Rs 1 lakhs with immediate release of the money for their marriage, and other such schemes that would benefit the people across the regions if Apni Party forms next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir.

He also sought vote and support of the people for the Party candidates in the upcoming elections.

“We are committed to end the discrimination and promote brotherhood in the society where the traditional political parties have sowed the seed of division to gain votes. However, the Apni Party believes in equality and an end to the religious / regional bias,” he added.

On this occasion, the organizer of the program, Ashwani Kumar also spoke and highlighted developmental issues of villages in Bishnah.

He highlighted issues like unscheduled power cuts, irregular clean drinking water supply etc.

He also demanded that the lane and drain work should be done in an unbiased manner in all the villages.

“The authorities have adopted a selective approach towards some of the basties in the villages even as all the villages face almost similar problems. The authorities should treat people equally regarding development,” he added.
