RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 11: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the land subsidence and damages in the Tangar area triggered by recent heavy rainfall.
Accompanied by Additional SP Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; AD FCS&CA Niamatullah Sheikh; Tehsildars, Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY, and other concerned officers, the Deputy Commissioner inspected affected houses and evaluated the extent of the damages.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the District Administration’s commitment towards the safety of the people. He urged the public to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to safety advisories, especially during any unforeseen situation or emergency.
Emphasizing the importance of preparedness, he advised people to take precautionary measures, stay alert to official updates, and cooperate with the administration to ensure collective safety and timely response.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Tehsildar to camp there and keep a close watch on the situation and remain prepared to shift families to the lodgment centre in case the need arises. He also instructed concerned officers to take immediate relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected families.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with local residents, listened to their issues and passed on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for prompt resolution of all genuine grievances.
