Srinagar, May 27: Senior Vice President of Apni Party and a consistent advocate of reconciliation between Kashmir and Delhi, Monday made an appeal to Union Home Minister to reconsider his statement of “ no jobs to children “ of militants.
Mir is the first political leader from Jammu and Kashmir who has reacted to Home Minister’s statement in which he stressed that no jobs will be available to terrorists’ children.
Home Minister Amit Shah who looks after J&K affairs since it became a Union Territory coinciding with abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, while underlining Modi Government’s Zero tolerance towards terrorism stated that no concession will be offered to families of terrorists. He said that it was necessary to strike at ecosystem of terrorism in Kashmir. It’s a fact that Kashmir has been unshackled of guns and stones after abrogation of Article 370.
Ghulam Hassan Mir reflecting on Amit Shah’s statement recalled that thousands of militants and stone pelters after having realized their blunders , joined in the task of nation- building. The argument was that denial of jobs to such youth whose parents or relatives were once with stone pelters and gun wielding men, runs contrary to Prime Minister and Home Minister’s commitments to win hearts of the people, and especially youth who are nation builders .
