Jammu , July 03: Within three days of his taking over s new army chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi visited the Line of Control that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan in Jammu region to assess the operational preparedness of the troops and also to take fresh inputs about the newer threats and how to neutralize the same.
Gen Dwivedi on Wednesday visited the Line of Control in the Rajouri-Poonch districts , which have been in the news for terror attacks in recent months. These have also been the infiltration route of the terrorists being pushed from across the LoC, which resulted in the terror attacks in Reasi, Doda and Kathua districts.

.According to an official spokesperson of the defence ministry Ge. Dwivedi visited the LoC under White Knight Corps – that is Rajouri and Poonch sectors, and reviewed the security situation in the context of operational preparedness .
The new chief lauded the commitment and dedication of the troops deployed on the LoC and also those looking after the internal security .
