Rajouri, February 4, 2026. The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) Pir Panjal Unit vehemently condemns the derogatory statements made by Leader of the Opposition and BJP leader Sunil Sharma against the Pir Panjal region.
In a joint press note issued today, Shah Mohd Tantary Former Mla and Senior Vice President Jammu Province. Syed Manzoor Bukhari, District President Rajouri, Arun kumar Sharma, Bashir Ahmed Khaki District President Poonch Coordinator Pir Panjal Region, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Spokesperson Raiz Atish Provinical sectatary and Zulfiqar Kazmi, Musarat Malik Party Leader, declared that Sunil Sharma’s reckless remarks have deeply wounded public sentiments and stunned the entire Pir Panjal belt.
The leaders expressed unwavering solidarity with the legislators from Pir Panjal who valiantly raised their voices in the House against these affronts.
They stressed that such hubris and disdain toward a sensitive, underdeveloped region like Pir Panjal is utterly intolerable. JKAP leaders demands that House proceedings be halted until Sunil Sharma offers an unconditional apology to the people of Pir Panjal.
The leaders further urged all legislators representing the Pir Panjal region to transcend political divides and unite in a collective crusade for its advancement.
They called for vigorous advocacy on pressing matters, including the establishment of a National Law University (NLU) in Pir Panjal, alongside other vital educational, developmental, and social imperatives affecting the populace. The party reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to upholding the dignity, rights, and aspirations of Pir Panjal’s residents, thay also warned that any further efforts to belittle the region will encounter resolute, democratic opposition. The people of Pir Panjal have always exemplified unwavering patriotism, fostering peace and safeguarding borders as steadfast sentinels. They merit profound respect and support—not calumny.
